Oudtshoorn

Oudtshoorn, is the perfect half way stop in between Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, or maybe even a destination on its own.  Every road into Oudtshoorn follows a dramatically picturesque pass or poort and one can't help to stop along the way to take a moment and absorb the experience.  Oudtshoorn is known as the ostrich capital of the world.

This little (well now not so little anymore) town has everything from stunning architecture, beautiful valley and mountain scenery, ancient caves and off course ostriches galore.  Here you will find of the world's best feathers, leather products, and tasty ostrich meat.  On arrival you can pop into an Ostrich farm and try riding one of these giant flightless birds and end the day at the ancient limestone caves, called Cango Caves, but there is also the Cango Wildlife Ranch and the stunning Swartberg Pass, not to mention the Meerkat tour, which means enough adventure from start to finish.
