Knysna

Your Accommodation Options in Knysna

Knysna is known as the Oyster Capital and is one of the Garden Route's best known travel destinations.  A bohemian town built on the Northern shores of a warm water estuary fed by the Knysna River.  The most well known attraction is the Knysna heads - two great stand stone cliffs guarding the mouth of the lagoon which connects the estuary with the sea.  At the waterfront you can board a ferry, which will take you to the Featherbed Nature Reserve on the Knysna Lagoon.

On this activity you will experience a tractor ride up the headland, stopping at some of the most spectacular scenic viewpoints along the way. A specialist guide will share his in depth knowledge on the fauna & flora of the reserve and the history of the area.  This is only one of the many activities and attractions in and around Knysna.  One of the most spectacular attractions is the Knysna Forest, which is still evident in many places within the town.  It is the largest indigenous forest in South Africa and has tall and ancient trees of exotic and local species, from Yellowood, Blackwood, Stinkwood to Cape chestnut and ironwood is found in this beautiful forest paradise.  As there is so much to see and do in Knysna, we do suggest a 2 night stay.
