The Pilanesberg National Game Park is about 55,000 hectare and is among the largest of the parks in South Africa.  What makes the Pilanesberg so appealing is the setting, a crater of a long extinct volcano.  An interesting alkaline complex produced by volcanic eruptions about 1300 million years ago and is one of the largest volcanic complexes of its kind in the world.
