Also known as "The Mother City", Cape Town has often been rated as one of the places to visit before you die and it is not hard to see why when you see its spectacular mountains, gorgeous coastline and natural fauna.Among the city's numerous historic treasures are the pentagonal Castle and the Cultural History Museum which was erected in 1679 as slave quarters, and subsequently serving as government offices and a supreme court. The Company Gardens was established in 1652 to supply passing ships of the Dutch East India Company with fresh produce and between 1692 and 1783 it was developed into a world-famous botanical garden.
Cape Town also has a variety of attractions that stretch from the famous Table Mountain all the way down to the sea. With its rich history, vibrant culture, pearly white beaches, charming fishing villages, colourful floral reserves and numerous adventure activities, Cape Town is worth at least a week of your time in South Africa.
