Our anniversary breakaway to Victoria Falls was really such a dream!
We had an AMAZING time. Old drift lodge truly is a magical place! The staff were extremely friendly, rangers are very knowledgeable and you can see their love for the bush and the employees are always trying their best to make sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves and had everything we needed.
The rooms were spotless and stocked with everything you could possibly need, even an ice maker in the room! The outdoor bath and shower really make you feel at one with nature and the chalets private pool overlooking the zambezi river allow you to relax and absorb the beauty of this area.
The main lodge is tastefully decorated, food was absolutely delicious and the cocktails were authentic and tasty – which is very rare as most all inclusive places we have been to usually have premixes and don’t put as much effort into their cocktails – definitely stood out for us.
The sunrise and sunset cruises were stunning, lots of hippo, crocs and elephants and beautiful bird life. The morning and afternoon game drives were just as gorgeous – we saw jackal, hyena, elephant, waterbuck, warthog, impala, kudu and even sable (was my first time seeing sable!). Our last game drive ended off with a romantic private picnic on the banks of the zambezi river with elephant and hippo in the background.
An early morning trip to the falls was also included in the holiday and nothing could have prepared me for the moment I first saw the falls – goosebump moment for sure, definitely a highlight of our trip and one more tick off the bucketlist! The only lowlight from the whole trip is that we had to leave ;-(
Lastly, thank you so much Desire for all your advice and assistance! Your service was amazing when we booked our Mauritius honeymoon 2 years ago, and once again you gave us the best service and rates when booking our 2nd wedding anniversary – definitely one to remember! Your attention to detail is impeccable and we appreciate that you go out of your way to ensure we get the best deals and have the best experience possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we are really grateful ?
