The Niassa Reserve is an enormous area of wilderness, 42 000 square kilometers, twice the size of Kruger and one of the largest reserves in Southern Africa. The Niassa Reserve supports the largest wildlife populations in Mozambique and is particularly well known for its elephants and buffaloes. Access is generally by private charter plane from Pemba to as there are few roads. This is for the true safari enthusiast with a desire to experience the true wilderness.
