Kilimanjaro Trekking

The word "Kilimanjaro", also known as 'Mountain of Lights', 'Mountain of Greatness' or 'Mountain of Caravans'...... When you see this natural giant, you know that you have arrived in East Africa. It is the highest peak on the African continent and also the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, rising in break-taking isolation from the surrounding coastal scrub-land - elevation around 900 metres - to a massive 5,895 metres and is one of the largest volcanoes ever to burst through the earths surface. Visitors who come to climb Kilimanjaro will be surprised by every-changing fauna, which is know as 'vegetational zonation", a term used to describe the fact that certain plants will only grow at certain altitudes, leading to distinct bands of trees shrubs and flowering plants that change with height. Then off course the animals that live in this habitat, have adapted to certain extent to the everyday mountain life.
